I am now officially a smartphone user, in fact, I'm writing this blog post from my iPhone right now. I had never really had much want or need for a smartphone till I started taking more intense journalism classes this semester. In News Reporting I, I have to take a smartphone out around Glassboro and record responses of people from the town on either an event or an issue that faces Glassboro. This is the first time I realized I would need a Smartphone and when my mom asked me if I wanted a Kindle Fire for my birthday, I asked her if I could get a smartphone instead. Fortunately I have a wonderful mother and she decided to spoil me and agreed that a smartphone would be a great birthday present.
I eventually got my iPhone after a few shipping problems and have been using it nonstop since. I explored apps and downloaded a few such as Weebly, Facebook, and of course, Angry Birds.
Overall, the phone has made my life easier. I don't have to remember to grab my iPod AND phone when I leave in the morning, I can check my email whenever and wherever, and I found texting to be much easier. Being the Vice President and future President of they Gay-Straight Alliance on campus, I need to be available to contact at most times throughout the day. The smartphone makes it extremely easy. For example, I can easily compose group texts, check Facebook, the GSA email, the GSA Twitter, or the GSA website at anytime of the day.
In the end, I decided the smartphone was not only a good choice for my major, but my life overall.
